Kennedy & CollinsLAW

Our firm

Counsel that feels
personal.

For more than three decades, Kennedy & Collins has helped Northeast Ohio families and businesses make confident decisions through every season of life.

A steady partner

Experience you
can talk to.

David R. Kennedy founded the firm in 1989 after a first career in banking, with a simple idea: legal advice should be honest, practical, and delivered by someone who actually knows your name.

That idea still runs the place. Christy Collins joined in 2013 and became a shareholder in 2017, when the firm took its present name. Bruce May — nearly forty years of Barberton practice — joined as Of Counsel in 2022. Stephanie Ledbetter rose from our front desk to the bar and joined as an associate in 2026. Nicole Welsh rounds out the team with a background in public service and children’s advocacy.

You’re a name, not a number here. The attorney you meet is the attorney who handles your matter, from the first conversation to the last signature.

What we do

A general practice, deliberately built around the moments that matter most.

Estate planning, elder law and Medicaid, probate and trust administration, real estate and title work, business and tax, and courtroom advocacy — including personal injury through our exclusive Life-Law Legal Services program, which gives clients 10% off their fee and directs a donation to the church or charity they choose.

Alongside the law practice, David Kennedy founded Ohio Fidelity Title Agency, and the office shares its building with Norton Tax Service — one stop for the paperwork of life.

We’re proud to serve Norton, Barberton, Akron, Wadsworth, Copley, Sharon Township, New Franklin, and Green — and communities across Summit County, Medina County, Wayne County, Stark County, Portage County, Carroll County.
