Bruce J. May

Retired from active practice · assists with former clients & files. Bruce takes the time to understand what matters to you — and stays personally involved from the first conversation to the finish.

Bruce May practiced law in Barberton for nearly forty years, serving clients across Summit, Wayne, Medina, Stark, and Portage counties since his admission to the Ohio Bar in 1985.

He joined Kennedy & Collins in January 2022 as Of Counsel while transitioning his practice and his clients to the firm. He retired from active practice in July 2024 but retains his law license and his Of Counsel affiliation, and remains available to assist with former clients, cases, and files.

Over his career Bruce’s work spanned estate planning, corporate law, real estate, elder law, and probate and trust administration.

Beyond the office
Born and raised in Akron, Bruce has served as President of both the South Summit Chamber of Commerce and the Barberton Rotary Club, on the Board of Advisors for the Daughters of Divine Charity, and on the Board of Directors of the Barberton Community Foundation.
